It’s been another busy period for the team, working with our Partners. We have now completed our first full financial year, with collaboration and engagement, project and programme delivery accelerating.
Our presence at UKREiiF 2024provided great opportunity to profile our region. Throughout the many compelling, diverse sessions, colleagues raised questions, shared plans and initialised investment discussions.
For three days wrapped up into 8 minutes – take a glance at our UKREiiF highlights video. Visit our Youtube page.
Heartfelt thanks go to all the incredible speakers, hosts, Partners and the team who joined together to convey the Oxford to Cambridge Region’s stories to a 13,000-strong audience. Our UKREiiF events programme can be downloaded here: Oxford to Cambridge Region Partners at UKREiiF 2024
First Global Investment Prospectus
Launched at UKREiiF on 22 May 2024, we are delighted to present the region’s first Global Investment Prospectus. A collaborative project, the prospectus features an initial suite of seven investment opportunities ranging from R&D and commercial to mixed use property development, from education and skills to transport infrastructure.
The intensive ecosystems of world-class science, innovation and technology – powered by people who “push boundaries to create heathier lives and a more sustainable planet” are what distinguishes our region.
It was created to support our joint efforts to profile the region’s strengths and successes as we seek to attract more private-sector investment into projects and schemes to:
* unlock high-quality, sustainable infrastructure our communities need and want
* further connect and power the innovation ecosystems to realise our region’s potential as a global science and technology supercluster
* pursue a bold environmentally distinctive and inclusive agenda for economic development at scale
* progress the region’s new and expanding opportunities brought about from investment.
Contact Placi Espejo for more information about the prospectus and the emerging opportunities we’re exploring with partners to profile the region and investable schemes.

Data Observatory Portal, with analytical support service
This month we’ve launched the region’s Data Observatory Portal. The portal hosts a growing collection of transparent, unbiased, high-quality economic and environmental evidence and insights. It is designed to provide partners and investors with a robust dataset and information. The portal will be enhanced and updated regularly with new data and insights in response to the needs of its users.
The data is brought to life through a series of interactive visualisations, ensuring the information is simple to navigate and interpret.
Alongside this, the Partnership will provide an analyst support service to provide better insight of pan-regional trends on key indicators underpinning investment decisions.
Enter the Data Observatory Portal, via oxford-cambridge-data.org/dashboard
What can the Partnership’s analyst support service help you with?
* Business cases: we can help stakeholders find and use the evidence they need for a range of business case developments, such as inward investment propositions, economic development projects, business support programmes and more. This may include advice for monitoring and evaluation of economic and environmental performance, if required.
* Economic and environmental research projects: support for Further Education and Higher Education academics conducting research projects covering the Oxford to Cambridge region.
* Advice and understanding of data for the region: supporting communities to interpret and understand nuances behind the data where required.
For more information about the Data Observatory and to request analyst support, please get in touch with Arthur Le Geyt or Paolo Ferraro.
Renewal of the region’s Environment Principles
Through a range of partnership activities, we’re establishing a 10-point environment work programme to galvanise and bring forward the Partnership’s ambitions for the region to deliver an environmentally distinctive and proactive approach to sustainable development.
A key project which will further shape our collaborative work is the review and evolution of the region’s Environment Principles.
The Partnership has appointed sustainability consultancy Bioregional to advance this work and facilitate engagement so the principles appropriately reflect the current policy context and that they reflect the range of environmental and sustainability challenges the region faces. Background for this work can be read here: Revision to the Environment Principles. Colleagues previously engaged in the Environment Group should have received an invitation to learn more about this project and to get involved. If you didn’t but want to be included, please contact Nathan Vear in the first instance.
